PESHAWAR, 19 March: The anti-polio immunization drive will begin in tribal agencies and Frontier Regions on Monday, officials at the Emergency Operation Center (EOC) said here on Sunday.
According to Fida Muhammad Wazir, coordinator of the EOC, the drive will continue for three days in Bajaur, Mohmand, Orakzai, Kurram, FR Peshawar and FR Kohat. He added that more than 550,000 children of below five years of age would be administered anti-polio vaccines during the campaign.
He further informed that as many as 1817 teams had been constituted to accomplish the task.
The EOC coordinator maintained that the anti-polio drive in Khyber, North and South Waziristan, FR Tank, FR Lakki, FR DI Khan and FR Bannu would continue for eight days.
The polio teams would give drops of polio vaccines to children beside administering injectable vaccines to children of four to 23 months of age, he informed.
