ISLAMABAD, 2 November: All Parties Conference(APC) through a resolution have asked the federal government to merge Fata with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and announce a special package of Rs 500 billion for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of tribal areas.
The APC was convened by Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) here in Islamabad on Monday which was attended by opposition leader in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah, former-Member of National Assembly Akhunzada Chatan, Fata parliamentarians, Qaumi Watan Party chief Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao and leaders of Jamiat-e-Ulema Islam and Awami National Party.
The APC unanimously passed a resolution asking the federal government to include Fata in KP, extend the jurisdiction of supreme court and high courts to tribal areas. It also urged the government to announce a special package of Rs 500 billion for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of tribal region affected by militancy and terrorism.
While addressing the conference JI amir Sirajul Haq said that Fata should be given the status of Provincially Administered Tribal Areas after its merger with KP.
