PESHAWAR: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Karachi on Saturday released three accused in the Naqeebullah Mehsud murder case.
Those who were granted bail included former Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Qamar Ahmed Sheikh, Sub-Inspector Yaseen and Head Constable Khizer Hayat.
Naqeebullah Mehsud, a shopkeeper and an aspiring model hailing from South Waziristan tribal district, was killed along with three others in a fake encounter in Karachi.
The main accused in the case, former Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rao Anwar, has already got bail in the case.
Rao Anwar along with 11 of his subordinates was facing trial before the ATC for allegedly killing Naqeebullah.
Naqeebullah’s father has expressed a lack of confidence in the ATC judge hearing the murder case. He said he don’t expect justice in the case. Naqeeb’s family has also expressed reservations over undue favours given to Rao Anwar despite facing murder charges.
