PESHAWAR, 30 September: Aurat Foundation, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) working for women rights, has expressed grave concern over increase in the incidents of honour killing in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Aurat Foundation organised a seminar in this regard at the Peshawar Press Club on Tuesday which was attended by people from different walks of life. Speakers said on the occasion that 14,000 women in Pakistan become victim of honour killings in Pakistan every year. They said the ratio of honour killings in KP is on the rise.
Officials of the NGO said the organisation publishes annual reports about honour killings, domestic violence and women harassment, but it has not published the report this year due to increasing incidents in KP. They said the Aurat Foundation has decided to conduct a fresh survey to report accurate facts and figures in the province.
