TORKHAM, September 16: Authorities on Pak Afghan border opened the Torkham gate for traffic on Saturday that was shut down after blast the other day.

The border was closed after minor blast on security forces was carried out on Friday, injuring eight persons including six Frontier Constabulary personnel.

The closure of gate caused worst traffic jam as hundreds of trucks and passengers’ vehicle remained stranded on both sides of the border.

A flag meeting was held between security officials of both countries and agreed to reopen the gate for traffic after which the political administration opened it. The administration also cancelled Sunday leave of Customs Department Officials keeping in view traffic rush.
