Azadi March: KP police start special preparations
KP police start special preparations for Azadi March of JUIF on October 27.

PESHAWAR: As the Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazal (JUIF) workers preparations are in full swing for Azadi March, the KP police have also started special training to prevent any unpleasant situation during the protests.

In this connection, special training of police personnel has been launched in Malik Saad Shaheed Police Line Peshawar, which is aimed at preventing Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s march on October 27. Police personnel are being trained to avoid any untoward situation during the protest and to protect public lives and properties.

In addition, the police have been urged to remain alert in case of any emergency. The KP police officials have vowed that they will use all resources to overcome any unpleasant situation during the march of JUIF against the PTI government. Apart from Peshawar, other districts of the province also have the same police training.

Govt to file case against JUIF for its ‘uniformed wing’

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has on Wednesday announced action against uniformed workers of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam known as Ansarul Islam wing of the party.

Provincial Information Minister Shaukat Yousufzai has said that the creation of “armed group” is a violation of the Constitution of Pakistan and the National Action Plan. A case will be filed against the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam leadership.

Yousafzai said that there could be no militia other than the army and the police. JUIF has violated Article 152, an attempt to bring a uniformed group made to create fear among the masses. He said that what Maulana Fazlur Rehman wants, if he wants to protest, then no one has stopped him.

It is to be noted that JUIF chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has announced to launch a march against Islamabad from October 30. It may be recalled that the JUIF had recently organized a training program for its trusted volunteers in Peshawar in connection with the preparations for the march, which it has been subjected to severe criticism by the government.
