QUETTA: 28, April: State Minister for Education Engr Balighur Rahman expressed the hope that implementation of education policy introduced by Balochistan government will go a long way in boosting literacy rate in the province.

He was speaking as chief guest at a seminar on education titled “Education Sector Plan” here at a local hotel. Officials of the education department from across the country and education experts participated in the seminar. The event was organized by Baluchistan government in collaboration with UNICEF.

Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Malik Baloch demanded of the chairman Higher Education Commission to increase the number of scholarships for students of his province.

“Mr. Chairman, you should not award us scholarships on the basis of enrollment but it should be on the basis of area. Our universities are recently established having 500 enrollments. How can I bring Khuzdar, Loralai, Turbat universities at a par with Quaid-e-Azam University?” the chief minister remarked.

The HEC chairman assured the chief minister to increase the national and international scholarships for the students of Balochistan.
