BARA, 12 July: The factory workers of Alamgodar area of Bara tehsil in Khyber Agency have said they are facing many difficulties in their movement, especially during Sehr and Iftar, due to lack of any market or transport facility in the area.

The labourers told TNN that most of factories of Khyber Agency are located in Alamgodar area, where there is no market or transport facility. They said they bring food and other items for Sehr and Iftar from Batatal Bazaar. They demanded that they should be allowed to establish a market in Alamgodar area.

“Besides local labourers, workers from Punjab, Mardan, Charsadda and other areas work in factories in Alamgodar. We have no facility to open a canteen or a hotel for the labourers here,” a local labourer told TNN.

“There is ban on the use of cycle in the area. We cover long distances on our feet as no transport facility is available here. We demand the administration to remove ban on the use of cycle,” another labourer said.

About 6,000 labourers from Khyber Agency and other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab are employed in 37 fabric, ice and iron factories in Bara.
