MARDAN, 17 November: A beautification and sewerage line project was inaugurated in Baghdada area of Mardan on Thursday.

A ceremony in this regard was organised in Baghdada union council which was attended by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Minister Atif Khan, district member Umar Farooq Kakakhel, local elders and political activists. Atif Khan inaugurated the sewerage line and beautification project which will be completed at a cost of Rs18 million within two months. The project will help the people of Baghdada get rid of the stagnant polluted water in the area.

The area people expressed happiness over the initiation of the project.

District member Umar Farooq said the sewerage line in the village constructed by the previous government was not properly planned due to which the problems of the people increased further.

“The stagnant water was damaging the properties of the people and they were demanding resolution of this problem. We are happy that the problem has been resolved now,” he told TNN.
