NOWSHERA: The body of a 10-year-old boy, who was missing for the last two days, has been found from fields in Khan Sher Garhi area of Pabbi in Nowshera.

Pabbi Police Station officials said a woman, Asma filed a report on 1 May that her son, Muhammad Rehan went out of home for playing, but did not return. She said she searched her son everywhere and announcements in this regard were also made in the mosques, but no information about him was received.

After filing the report, the police started search for the missing child. Police said they received information late in the night on Thursday that the body of a child was lying in a sugarcane field in Amankot area. Police recovered the body of Rehan, who was slaughtered by unidentified culprits, and shifted it to Rashid Memorial Hospital for post mortem.

The samples from the body were sent for laboratory tests after which the body was handed over to family. It is suspected that the boy was subjected to sexual abuse and after that he was slaughtered by kidnappers.

Police have also arrested three suspects and they are being interrogated.

Earlier in the day, Nowshera Police arrested a young man allegedly involved in sexually abusing a four-year-old boy in Akora Khattak area.

Several incidents of sexual abuse have been reported from Nowshera recently, and these incidents are not coming to an end.

Last month, two students subjected their classmate to sexual abuse and shot him injured over offering resistance in Nowshera. Local residents told Nowshera Police Station officials that a boy was laying in injured condition near a Barani nullah in Pahari area after which a police team reached there. The policemen shifted the injured boy, identified as Shah Said, to hospital. Doctors at the hospital after medical tests confirmed that the boy was subjected to sexual abuse.

On 26 March, a bid to sexually abuse a 10-year-old girl in Eidgah area of Nowshera was foiled.

On 22 March, a seven-year-old boy was sexually abused in Khat Killi area of Nowshera. On 15 March, a nine-year-old boy was raped in Esori Payan area of Nowshera.
