KHAR: Da Ranra Malgari, a literary organisation in Bajaur tribal district, on Tuesday launched Maulana Khanzeb’s book ‘Bajaur Da Tareekh Pa Ranra Ki’ (Bajaur in the light of history) at the Jirga Hall in Civil Colony, Khar.

The ceremony was attended by a large number of people having interest in Pashto literature, while Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Fayyaz Sherpao and Additional Deputy Commissioner Zameen Khan attended the function as special guests.

The literary organisation welcomed the guests and presented a detailed introduction of the book. Speakers on the occasion put light on different aspects of the book and its importance. They said this book is an important addition to the volume of Pashto literature and it will give a lot of things to the lovers of literature to know about. They said the history of Bajaur has been narrated in the book in a simple manner to make it understandable for a common man.

The speakers said the book gives a thorough insight into historically significant facts about Bajaur. They said the book is useful for the literature lovers and general public alike as it has valuable knowledge. They said the government must promote the culture of book-reading as it helps the people maintain a positive approach towards the society building.

Deputy Commissioner Fayyaz Sherpao said on the occasion that societies that maintain links to cultural norms and history always move on path of development. He said people associated with the fields of art and literature are valuable asset for the country and the administration will continue to extend cooperation to these figures. He said he was confident that the literary figures will keep up their efforts for brining positive change in the society with the power of their writing.

Participants of the function, including youth and tribal elders, expressed satisfaction that the literary figures of the region are contributing towards building a well-informed and peaceful society. They said more work must be done on highlighting the unique culture and history of Bajaur and building positive image of the area. They hailed the efforts of Maulana Khanzeb for writing a comprehensive book on Bajaur history.
