LOWER DIR, 22 November: Candidates for vacant seats in the Education Department on Saturday staged protest demonstration against the National Testing Service (NTS) over not allowed them to sit in the written exam for the posts.

The students who came to attend the written test told TNN that they possess original roll number slip, domicile certificate and identity cards of their fathers but the administration of NTS was not allowing them to enter the examination hall. The protesting candidates also chanted slogans against the NTS administration.

“The NTS should have told us earlier not to apply for these posts if you don’t possess your national identity cards. They accepted our application forms at that time and now they are not allowing us to sit in the examination,” a protesting candidate told TNN.

Another candidate said he was not allowed to enter the examination hall despite possessing domicile and PTC certificates. “I have received a form on which it has been clearly written that in case of not having an identity card, the candidates can bring domicile certificates. However, they are not allowing us to attend the exam despite fulfilling the requirement which is unjust,” he said.

On the other hand, the NTS officials told TNN that they cannot allow any candidate to enter the examinational hall without the identity card. They said they have been strictly directed by their higher officials not to allow any candidate without identity cards.
