The Sui Southern Gas Company on Wednesday organised a seminar in Quetta to create awareness about the careful use of gas to avoid accidents and mishaps. The Ulema of the area also participated in the seminar organised at Quetta Press Club. The Sui Southern officials said 25 people had lost their lives and over 100 others sustained injuries in gas-related mishaps in Quetta during the last four years.

One police personnel was killed and three others sustained injuries in a landmine blast on Tuesday. Police said a patrolling van was passing on the Northern Bypass in the morning when it hit a remote controlled bomb. The injured policemen were taken to Civil Hospital for treatment, where one on them was stated to be in critical condition.
