Local government representatives held a protest demonstration against the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for not releasing developmental funds. The elected nazimeens and councilors gathered in Bacha Khan square on Monday to record their protest against the PTI-led provincial government. They were holding banners and placards inscribed with anti-government slogans. They were also shouting slogans against the provincial government.
While rejecting FCR law and implementation of ‘Riwaj Act’ in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), the tribal women jirga on Saturday demanded immediate merger of FATA with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Nowshera Police have recovered a huge quantity of hashish from a truck at GT Road and arrested a suspect. District Police Officer Wahid Mehmood said a truck was stopped for checking at Jehangira Chowk on Monday and 144 kilograms good quality hashish was recovered from its hidden portions. He said the hashish was being smuggled to Punjab.
