PA Eleven have won the Inter-Departmental Cricket Tournament which was arranged in the memory of deceased journalist Mehboob Shah in Khyber Agency. In the final match of the tournament at Jamrud Sports Complex on Wednesday, PA Eleven surpassed the target of 65 runs given by the Media Club with the loss of two wickets and won the event.

Wapda players shined in the Shuhuda-e-Army All-Pakistan national ranking badminton championship which concluded at the Garrison Services Club here on Wednesday. The women’s single title was won by Wapda’s Mahwar Shahzad while in the men’s single title, Wapda’s Hafiz Irfan Saeed beat his teammate Abdur Rahman. In women’s double, Sidra and Khizra Rasheed from Wapda beat their teammates Saima and Farzana.
The All-Pakistan Ramazan night cricket tournament got underway here at the Wapda ground on Saturday. According to Hanifullah Shinwari, one of the organizers of the tournament, a total of 100 teams of different cricketing clubs all over the country are participating in the event. Besides, a cricket club from the neighboring Afghanistan is also competing in the event.

The Khyber Green team lifted the trophy of the first Khyber Cricket Premier League by beating Khan Club by eight runs in a nail-biting contest here on Sunday evening. Batting first at the Jamrud Sports Complex ground, the Khyber Green team scored 198 runs in the allotted 20 overs. The Peshawar-based Khan Club did well but failed to reach the target as all of its batsmen were out on 190 runs. Zulqarnain of the Khyber Green team was declared player of the match while Asad Afrid of the Eleven Stars was named man of the tournament.
