PESHAWAR, November 2: The federal government has announced to suspend mobile phone services on 9th and 10th of Moharramul Haram.

The decision was taken to ensure better security as the provincial governments had appealed to the federal government to take such measures.

The interior ministry says the cellular services in the sensitive areas would be suspended for a short period of time.

The provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has declared Peshawar, Hangu, Tank and Dera Ismail Khan the most sensitive areas in the province because such areas are prone to violence between the Sunni and Shia sects during the month of Moharram.
