PESHAWAR, 16 May: The federal government and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government have reached a consensus on decreasing the duration of power outages in the province and resolving the issue of net-hydel profit.

During a meeting between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and Federal Minister for Water and Power Khwaja Asif which held in Islamabad yesterday, the federal government agreed to invest in 13 projects of power generation in KP. However, the net-hydel profit would be sent to the Council of Common Interest.

The federal government asked the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to help Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) in its efforts to put a leash on power pilferage. Pervez Khattak will hold a meeting with the Pesco authorities directly on 26th the instant to fix a schedule for power breakdowns in the province.
