CGPA arranges session aware women about reforms in tribal areas

MOHMAND: Awareness Sessions were held in different localities of Mohmand districts to make women aware of reforms in tribal districts and importance of the 25th Constitutional Amendment.

Awareness sessions were held at Aqal Kor, Surbarage and Dab Kor localities of Tehsil Ekkaghund which were organized by CGPA and CSDR. All sessions were only for women of erstwhile FATA.

Fauzia Bibi, a member of CSDR while highlighting the importance of reforms in tribal districts, said that the 25th Amendment is a key of development in the districts which were ignored in the past. Perviaz Khan of Aqal Kor demanded on the occasion “We need technical and vocational training for women to earn a livelihood.” Women are the equal population of tribal districts but there are no such facilities available to female as compare to Peshawar and other districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In May 2018, the Parliament passed the Twenty-fifth Constitutional Amendment Bill wand merged former FATA into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Aisha a student who participated in the discussion said that “there are no education and health facilities in Tribal district, the government should make its provision a priority”.

Sadeeya, 45 years old, said that “there is no accountability system in FATA. We want the accountability of those people who are involved in illegal activities and demands of Electricity and education facilities in our area”.

Zaheeda Bibi, another woman participant said that the tribal people want to materialize the 10 years developmental plan and the Government need to conduct local government election without further delay and ensure the seats and presence of Female.

Sameena Bibi added that after the FATA reforms and 25th Amendment, there is no visible change in the tribal area. She demanded the government to provide the basic education, Vocational Training Centers, Health facilities including Zacha Bacha Centers immediately.
