PESHAWAR, 18 March: The prices of the chicken on Saturday soared in Peshawar and other parts of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The district administration has fixed chicken rate at Rs 175 per kg for today. However, in many parts of the provincial capital, according to residents, sellers were charging Rs 185 per kg.
Shehzad, a local resident, told TNN that chicken are being sold at Rs 175 at Chargano (Chicken) market while in his area from where he belongs are being sold at 185 per kg.
Referring to the different prices, he said that concerned authorities should ensure prices fixed by the administration.
Citing the reasons, the poultry traders said that increase was result of diseases due to which various poultry forums shut downed their production in Punjab. He said that consumption of the chicken is also the reason of prices hike and will goes up further in coming days.
