Protest

PESHAWAR, April 30: Relatives of a child, who died at the Lady Reading Hospital in the provincial capital Peshawar, staged protest, saying the incident happened due to doctors’ negligence.

The protesters told TNN that they performed circumcision of the two and a half months old child and due to excessive bleeding they took him to the hospital. They said the child died because the doctors did not provide him proper medication.

The father of the child, Alamzeb, told TNN, “In this hospital, no doctor and nurse visited the patient and till now the blood report of our patient has not been given to us. Where should we go? The doctors and nurses visited our patient after he expired. We demand action against the hospital staff to avoid such incidents in future.”

A senior doctor of the hospital, Muhammad Sharif, while taking notice of the incident, formed an inquiry committee comprising three members to probe the issue.
