Chinese companies to invest $300 million in Pakistan

PESHAWAR: Chinese Companies to invest 300 million dollars in Pakistan, said a handout issued by the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday after a Chinese delegation held meeting with the provincial finance minister, Taimur Salim Jhagra.

The delegation was comprised of members of different Chinese Companies has discussed their plan to set up a steel plant in Pakistan as well as investing in mines and mineral development in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

It was also added that the Chinese will also invest in the promotion of tourism opportunities in the province. During the discussion, both sides agreed that a joint workshop will be arranged to discuss the possible projects to be carried in the province by the Chinese government.

“We are providing all possible facilities to foreign investors,” said the handout quoting the provincial finance minister. “The investors are now staring coming to the province which will not only be helpful in the revival of our economy but will also generate better job opportunities.”
