PESHAWAR, 27 October:  Chitral is the worst affected by the earthquake in terms of financial as well as human loses  throughout Pakistan and the government should pay special and urgent attention to the far flung areas of district during rescue and relief operations,  said Sardar Hussain Shah, Member of Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from Chitra on Tuesday.

Addressing a press conference at Peshawar press club, he said that  currently  reports of losses were coming only from the urban areas of the district and no attention was being paid to the rural parts of the district.

He said  that the exact number of human casualties as well as the assessment of property loses in far flung areas of Chitral were yet be known due to the disruption of communication  system and blockade of roads caused by heavy raining and snowfall in the region over the last few days.

He demanded of the provincial and federal government to send rescue teams and necessary items like food, blankets, tents  and medicines  to those cut off areas in the extremely cold weather through helicopters at the earliest.
