CHITRAL, 14 July: The people of Chitral are facing many difficulties due to excessive power load-shedding.

The local people said the load-shedding duration has increased to 20 hours due to which the refrigerators and other equipment run with electricity have been rendered useless in this hot summer. They said excessive load-shedding has affected their domestic life and business activities due to which the people are facing a difficult situation.

The area people called upon the federal and provincial governments to allocate funds for Singor power station and increase its capacity to 4 megawatts.

A shopkeeper in Chitral Bazaar told TNN that he cap-making business has suffered a blow due to prolonged outages.

“How can we do our work when power supply remains disconnected for 18 hours,” he said.
