PESHAWAR, 25 December: Like other parts of the world, the Christian community of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA is also celebrating Christmas today (Sunday) with religious zeal.

Not only Christians, but Muslims and people from other regions are also participating in the Christmas functions to express solidarity with the Christian community. The Christian community members have illuminated their houses and churches and also decorated Christmas trees. Prayers are also being offered at Churches for prosperity and solidarity of Pakistan.

Al-Khair Foundation, a welfare organisation, on Saturday distributed food items and blankets among 100 Christian families at the Saint Paul Church in Mardan.

Andreas Masih, an elder of Christian community, said on the occasion that Christmas gives a message of peace and love.

“We will be celebrating Christmas tomorrow and we are very happy over receiving gifts from this welfare organisation. We will pray for this organisation to continue helping the people in need. People here face problems of housing, education and healthcare,” he told TNN.
