Clean and green initiative: Every student to plant two trees in Khyber

BARA: Under the clean and green initiative of Federal government, tree plantation drive begun in Khyber district where every student pledged to plant at least two saplings on Monday.

The plantation drive was started on the direction of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief Minister Mehmood Khan by the district administration of the Khyber tribal district. A number of notables of the district including the elders and students from all the three Tehsils of Jamrud, Landi Kotal and Bara participated in the first day of plantation drive. On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner, Khyber Mehmood Aslam Wazir provided 180,000 saplings to the district forest officer for plantation.

These saplings will be provided to the education officers who will further distribute it among the students of all the tehsils. It was estimated that each student will plant at least two saplings during the current plantation season. It was announced that the student who plants maximum trees will be provided certificates.

 Plantation drive kicks up by KTH

PESHAWAR: Medical Teaching Institution Khyber Teaching Hospital organised a plantation drive in the hospital, to contribute towards the clean and green initiative of the government. The tree plantation drive was inaugurated by Chairman Board of Governor (BoG), Dr Faisal Sultan along with Dr Nadeem Alam, Engineer Jan Ali, Dr Shah Jehan.

Hospital management collectively planted about 1000 saplings inside the hospital and also in the surrounding areas. On the occasion, Chairman BoG Dr Faisal Sultan said that the institute is committed to providing best patient care and a healthy environment. He said that being an institution that provides patient care we should also contribute to the environment by planting trees.

Recognizing the growing environmental concerns and climatic changes around the globe, the day was marked in continuation of the commitment of the institute towards ethical practices in the health sector. Hospital Director Nek Dad Khan said that in the second phase after the completion of renovation work the focus will shift to the beautification of the gardens and lawn of the hospital.
