PESHAWAR, 16 July: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak has renamed the district government as district council and approved funds for priority projects in health, education and other sectors.
The chief minister approved the funds at a meeting of local governments at the Secretariat on Friday. Provincial ministers and advisers also attended the meeting.
According to the new formula, 20 percent funds have been allocated for education, 10 percent for health and 15 percent each for agriculture, sports and youth affairs.
The district governments will have 50 discretionary powers as well.
