PESHAWAR, 7 May: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak has announced to stage sit-in against excessive power load-shedding in the province on 12 May and taking back security from Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) officials.

Addressing the KP Assembly session today, the chief minister alleged that insiders from Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) had been often involved in power theft. He said undue load-shedding is being carried out in KP after accusing all its people for power theft.

Mr Khattak said KP produces more electricity but do not get its share. He said the province has also been deprived of net hydel profit of Rs146 billion.

The chief minister warned to stage sit-in outside the Assembly if excessive power load-shedding was not reduced within three days. He also threatened to take back security of PESCO officials and closing the storehouse of WAPDA.
