PESHAWAR, 25 November: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak has approved six mega development schemes in Haripur and Abbottabad districts.

The uplift schemes include 18-kilometre Havelian-Dhamtor road which will cost Rs1 billion, new engineering college and information technology training centre in Haripur, link road as a part of under construction Jhangra Dam project in Abbottabad, new playground in Haripur and soil erosion protection scheme in Havelian.

These schemes were approved during a high-level meeting chaired by Pervaiz Khattak at the Secretariat on Tuesday. Adviser to Chief Minister for Communication and Works Akbar Ayub Khan, Special Assistant to the CM for Information and Higher Education Mushtaq Ghani, PTI leader Yousaf Ayub Khan and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.

The meeting was told that the proposed road leading from Ayub Bridge in Havelian to Dhamtor will facilitate the people travelling to Murree and Nathiagali. With the construction of the new road, the travellers will not need to travel through Abbottabad city and will use the Bypass Road.

Mr Khattak said during the meeting that the new engineering college in Haripur will immediately be affiliated with the Peshawar Engineering University.
