PESHAWAR, 18 June: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak has inaugurated new traffic wardens system at Peshawar Police Lines.
The new traffic police service includes 260 wardens with 20 vehicles and 16 motorcycles. The trained wardens will manage traffic on the roads and will also help people in case of any accident.
In the first phase, the wardens will be appointed at the road leading from Mufti Mehmood Flyover to Hayatabad. Mr Khattak said the whole traffic system of Peshawar will be handed over to these wardens after three months. He said the system will also be introduced in Abbottabad and Swat.
Meanwhile, Rescue 1122 spokesman Bilal Ahmed Faizi said the organisation has provided first aid, firefighting and other training to the traffic wardens.
