NOWSHERA, 20 May: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak has suspended medical superintendent and deputy medical superintendent of Mian Rashid Shaheed Hospital in Nowshera over absence from duty.

The chief minister conducted a surprise visit to Mian Rashid Shaheed Hospital yesterday after inaugurating a relief centre in Jalozai. During the visit, the medical superintendent and deputy medical superintendent were found absent from the hospital after which Mr Khattak issued their suspension orders. The chief minister also asked provincial health secretary to conduct inquiry against absent staff and also take necessary action.

The chief minister visited different units of the hospital and expressed disappointment over poor sanitation and other arrangements.
