PESHAWAR, 14 October: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak has announced to convert 282 police stations and posts in the province into model police stations.
The chief minister made this announcement at a meeting in Peshawar on Tuesday which was attended by Inspector General Police Nasir Durrani and provincial ministers. Mr Khattak said all the police stations will be renovated and modern equipment will be installed in these police stations to facilitate the visitors. He said trained staff will also be appointed in these model police stations.
Mr Khattak said work on the model police stations will be completed in three years. He also directed the police to establish their own traffic engineering department.
IGP Nasir Durrani on the occasion suggested establishment of Bureau of Accountability within Police Department to ensure internal and external accountability of police officials.
