PESHAWAR: After reports of huge deforestation emerged in the scenic valley of Swat, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Mehmood Khan has taken notice and directed the concern authorities to submit a report.
The Chief Minister has directed the forest department to identify the culprit behind the illegal cutting of forest precious trees. He has asked for strict action under the law to protect the forest in scenic Swat valley.
The CM has also sought a report from the forest department regarding the matter at the earliest and maintained that the PTI government has a resolve to take action against the timber mafia, adding forest trees were our asset and no one would be allowed to deprive the motherland of this precious asset.
KP to become tourists hub
PESHAWAR: Chief Minister has said that the PTI government is planning to make the KP a tourist hub of the country. He added that all our efforts are underway to maximize the benefits from the tourism sector this year.
He was chairing the 4th meeting of the task force on tourism, the Chief Minister issued directions to all concerned departments to take initiatives aimed not only at maximizing the inflow of tourists but also to ensure that they are properly facilitated at every level.
The meeting was also attended by Senior Minister Muhammad Atif Khan, Minister for Information Shaukat Ali Yousafzai, Minister Local Government Shahram Khan Tarakai, Minister C&W Akbar Ayub, Chief Secretary Muhammad Saleem Khan, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Shahab Ali Shah and other officials.
While addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister stated that the district administrations in collaboration with the local authorities & TMAs shall ensure proper waste disposal and cleanliness in the touristic valleys of Galyat, Naran, Kalam and Chitral so as to keep the local environment clean and green.
The Chief Minister also directed the Health Department to ensure availability of doctors and medicine in all BHUs and RHCs along with the provision of mobile health facilities in the touristic valleys of Abbottabad, Mansehra, Swat and Chitral in the forthcoming summer.
