PESHAWAR: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has arrived in Afghan capital Kabul to attend Chief of Defence Conference.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) Commander General Joseph L Votel, US top military commander in Afghanistan, Afghan army chief and other top security officials will attend the conference.
The Army Chief is visiting Afghanistan after a visit of a high-level delegation of Pakistan led by Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janua on 3 February. Ms Janjua had condemned terrorist attacks in Kabul and offered joint investigations. Over a hundred people died in recent spate of terror attacks in Kabul.
In October 2017, General Bajwa went to a crucial visit of Kabul, where he held a meeting with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and other senior civilian and military officials.
