Pakistan Asks Afghanistan to help arrest university attack culprits

PESHAWAR, 22 January: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif has sought help from Afghan President Ashraf Ghani for action against suspects involved in terrorist attack on Bacha Khan University in Charsadda.

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lt Gen Asim Bajwa said on social media website Twitter on Thursday that a militant associated with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) was in contact with the terrorists who attacked the Charsadda university.

The DG ISPR said the army chief also contacted Afghan Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah and commander of Resolute Support Mission and United States Forces in Afghanistan Gen John Campbell on phone and sought cooperation over action against perpetrators of the attack. The attackers of Bacha Khan University used Afghan SIMs.
