KHAR, 29 August: Students of Government College of Technology in Bajaur on Monday protested against non-availability of teaching staff.

The students gathered outside the college in Inayat Killi area and blocked the road for a while. They also chanted slogans against the college administration and high ups of the Fata education department.

The protesting students were of the view that there were only 11 teachers for more than 500 students. They alleged that teachers did not come to college and take classes regularly.

“During the last two years, we did not see any teacher who attended his classes regularly,” alleged a student while talking to TNN.

They also demanded of the authorities of the Fata secretariat to resume annual scholarships for the tribal students.

Later, tehsildar Sardar Yousaf negotiated with the protesting students and assured them that attendance of teachers would be regularized, after which the students dispersed peacefully.
