CHARSADDA, 28 October: The students of government degree college Tangi protested against power load shedding in Charsadda district on Wednesday and asked WAPDA to bring an end to the unannounced hours long power breakdown forthwith otherwise they would resort to violent protests.

The protesting students first forcefully closed the nearby government schools in Tangi and then blocked Peshawar-Charsadda road for a while. They were chanting slogans against WAPDA.

The students complained that on one hand they were suffering from 18 hours load shedding every day and on the other WAPDA was sending them excessive bills without reading power meters.

One of the students told TNN ” The officials of WAPDA should stop the unnecessary 18 hours load shedding and overbilling  of power consumers. Otherwise we will come to the street again and turn violent and for any losses caused by us, the officials concerned will be held responsible for it.
