PESHAWAR: Senator of Pakistan people party, Malik Ghulam Khan Wazir has asked the government to provide compensation to the affected families of north Waziristan.

He said families have left from survey despite the fact that their houses and businesses destroyed due to operation Zarb-e-Azab in North Waziristan.

The senator asked the government to start cellular mobile service in Waziristan, supply electricity and issue of Benazir Income support program cards to deserving people of the tribal districts, like other parts of the country.

Wazir added that people of Waziristan have rendered numerous sacrifices for the country; they have now the right to be provided all the facilities of life, enjoyed by the people of others parts of the country.

“Whole world has recognized there sacrifices,” said the senator. “But even then the government of Pakistan is not serious in the complete rehabilitation of the tribal areas.”

Senator Wazir also asked government to immediately start work for bringing back the 1700 vehicles of the people of North Waziristan tapped in Afghanistan. He added that out of this, 800 vehicles have complete documents available with the owners.

“If the government failed to accept our rightful demands, we will be compelled to hold strong protests movement,” said the senator.  He said that the Youth of Waziristan has already started the movement, who are protesting for their rights.

The Youth of Waziristan held a protest against the undue delay made in payment of compensation to the people affected due to militancy and military operations in North Waziristan.  The protestors has asked that compensation must be paid to the affected families without further delay.
