JAMRUD, 23 April: The political administration of Khyber Agency has set on fire drugs confiscated from various areas worth Rs6 billion.

Political Agent Khyber Agency Shahab Ali Shah, Corps Commander Peshawar Hidayatur Rehman, Major General Tayyeb Azam Khan and other political officials were present on the occasion when the drugs were set on fire in Shahkas area of Jamrud tehsil today.

The security forces spokesman told media persons that the drugs include 73,000 kg hashish, 117 kg heroin, 400 kg opium, 950 liquor bottles and other chemicals. He said these drugs were confiscated in different raids during the last nine months.

The spokesman added that the drugs were worth Rs6 billion in the Pakistani market, while in the international market its worth was over 100 billion rupees.

The political administration said the quantity of the confiscated drugs in different areas of Khyber Agency is double than the drugs confiscated last year.
