PESHAWAR: Twelve more deaths and 322 cases were reported from coronavirus in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours.

With the addition of new cases, the toll in KP has risen to 59,023, while the death toll has reached 1,661, official data shows.

In Pakistan, 82 more deaths were reported from COVID-19 during the last 24 hours.

According to the latest data shared by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), 2,184 people tested positive for coronavirus after tests of 38,229 people. The figure of active corona cases in the country is now 35,130.

Around 437,229 people have recovered from the disease so far across Pakistan.

According to the NCOC, the corona positivity rate in KP is 5.3 percent, Punjab 4.7 percent, Sindh 8.1 percent, Balochistan 3.8 percent, Islamabad 3.3 percent, GB 1.4 percent and Azad Jammu and Kashmir 8.5 percent.

Latest data shows said that the highest positivity rate in the country was reported in Karachi (15.7 percent), followed by Peshawar (15.5 percent).

On Friday, 2,156 people recovered from coronavirus in Pakistan. Most of the deaths on Friday were reported from Punjab followed by the Sindh. No corona patient was on ventilator in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan, while 300 ventilators were occupied elsewhere in Pakistan. The maximum ventilators were occupied in four major areas including Multan (37 percent), Islamabad (38 percent), Peshawar (34 percent) and Lahore (32 percent).

The oxygen beds were also occupied in four major areas as in Peshawar (58 percent), Islamabad (35 percent), Karachi (30 percent), and Multan (39 percent).

Since the pandemic outbreak, a total of 482,178 cases were detected so far that comprised total affected, deceased and recovered COVID-19 patients, including 8,277 in AJK, 18,168 in Balochistan, 4,857 in GB, 37,888 in Islamabad, 138,608 in Punjab and 215,679 in Sindh.

The total death toll in Pakistan stands at 10,176, including 3,560 in Sindh, 4,042 in Punjab, 419 in Islamabad, 183 in Balochistan, 101 in GB and 222 in AJK.

A total of 6,737,107 corona tests have been conducted so far, while 626 hospitals are equipped with corona treatment facilities. Some 2,693 corona patients were admitted in hospitals across the country.
