Corps commander lauds sacrifices of tribesmen in war against terrorism

WANA: Corps Commander lieutenant general Mazhar Shaheen while addressing a jirga of Mehsud tribe said that all the land mines in the South Waziristan will be cleared till the month of August.

He said the people of South Waziristan are worst affected due to land mines and asked them to inform the security forces if they see any explosives or land mines.

The high official of Pakistan army also recognized the services of Levies and Khasadar force and promised that they will be merged with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police and equal salaries and privileges will be ensured. The Khasadars were informed that if any Khasadar man is aged, he has the right to employ one of the adults of his family.

He said that the tribal people have offered high sacrifices since the creation of the country adding that today; if Azad Kashmir is free it to due to the efforts and sacrifices of tribal people. The corps commander especially appreciated the sacrifices of Mehsud tribe for the country and said that they have never lagged behind serving the country.

He said that there is no doubt the people of Waziristan has suffered a lot due to the militancy in the region, but now the security forces have restored peace and they will be provided with every facility of life including the cellular and internet facility, which he said will be started within a month. Mazhar Shaheen also informed the tribal elders about the plan of a special financial package from development fund which will be given for the construction of the war-affected house in tribal districts.

Talking about the new markets in the district, the corps commander said that soon work will start on the construction of new markets, waters supply schemes and houses for the people of the area.
