PESHAWAR: The death toll from COVID-19 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has reached 821 as 22 new deaths were reported on Monday.

According to latest data shared by the KP Health Department, as many as 636 new cases were confirmed in the province during the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 22,663. The new infections include four those persons who have returned through various international flights. Out of 22 new deaths, 15 have been reported in Peshawar two each in Mardan, Dera Ismail Khan, and one each in Swat, Abbottabad and Malakand.

As many as 6,860 patients have recovered so far, including 333 during the last 24 hours.

Peshawar is still the most affected district from coronavirus in KP with 7,828 cases so far, including 273 during the last 24 hours, and 413 deaths, over half of the total deaths in the province. As many as 980 people have recovered from the disease in the metropolis.

According to official data, Swat is the second most affected district with 80 deaths, Mardan has reported 46 deaths, Abbottabad has reported 38 deaths, Malakand reported 34, Nowshera reported 31, Bajaur reported 27, Kohat reported 25, Lower Dir reported 22, Swabi reported 18, Battagram reported 14, Charsadda reported 11, and Upper Dir, Dera Ismail Khan and Khyber tribal district have reported 10 deaths each. The death toll in other districts of KP is in single digit figure.

The districts of Tank, North Waziristan, South Waziristan, Lower Kohistan, Upper Kohistan, Torghar and Upper Chitral haven’t reported any coronavirus death so far, according to official data.

Countrywide death toll reaches 3,628

Death toll from COVID-19 in Pakistan has mounted to 3,628.

The total confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Pakistan have mounted to 183,300.

Of these, 71,092 have been reported in Sindh, 66,943 in Punjab, 22,663 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 9,587 in Balochistan, 10,912 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 1,288 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 845 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

As many as 71,458 patients have recovered from the virus in Pakistan.

The novel coronavirus is spreading quickly in almost all parts of Pakistan. The smart lockdown in some areas of the country hasn’t proved sufficient to stop coronavirus cases.
