PESHAWAR: To stop unregistered vehicles from plying on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa road, the provincial government has decided to launch a crackdown against illegal vehicles and motorcycles from January 1.
A statement issued here after meeting with officials of Excise and Taxation Department, Chief Secretary Muhammad Azam Khan said that procedure to get registration documents has been made easy.
“The owner would get registration documents within 24 hours after submitting an application,” the statement said.
Besides, process to get heavy vehicles’ registration documents has been made easy and the owners would get them within 45 days, it said, adding that earlier it would take six months.
The E&T Department officials said that around 290,000 applicants would be given registration numbers in December and asked the motorcycle owners to apply for registration as crackdown has been decided since January.
