PESHAWAR, 1 May: A cultural show arranged by South Asia Partnership (SAP), a non-governmental organisation (NGO), has concluded in Peshawar.

A large number of men and women from different walks of life in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA attended the cultural show which was arranged at a local hotel in the provincial metropolis. Goods relating to Pakhtuns’ life and culture were displayed at different stalls in the show. The visitors also showed keen interest in the stalls.

A Mushaira with the theme of peace was also organised at the end of the show. Poets from different parts of KP presented their poetry and received applause from the audience.

Visitors at the cultural show said this kind of programmes play important role in restoration of peaceful environment.

“I strongly believe that this kind of cultural events will promote peaceful environment in the region. Sitting together and arranging positive gatherings is the most effective way to promote peace,” a visitor at the show told TNN.

“Such programmes create market linkages and provide entertainment opportunities in the environment of stress,” another visitor said.
