MARDAN, 24 June: As the holy month of Ramazan is heading towards its end, people are now shifting their attention towards Eid shopping and a large number of customers could also be seen outside sweets shops to serve their guests on the occasion of Eid.
Mardan is famous for its Badayuni Peras which are served to guests on different occasions and also given as gift. The sale of Badayuni Peras increases manifold during Eid days and people like to serve and eat this traditional sweet item.
Faizan Naeem, a local resident, said he has come to buy Paras as his friends like to eat this item very much.
“The Paras of Mardan have no match and people from the whole country recognise this fact,” he told TNN.
Mardan Badayuni Paras maker Adnan said his family is associated with this business since 1925.
“A large number of people visit Mardan on Eid days to buy Paras. “So many people come here during Eid days and it becomes difficult for us to meet the demand of customers. Paras are also sent as gift to friends in Saudi Arabia, Dubai, England, America and other countries,” he said.
