Damage control: Former president ask CM Sindh to investigate Ahmad Shah’s murder

ISLAMABAD: In an attempt to overcome the growing anti-PPP sentiments among Pakhtuns, Former president Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday assured former member National Assembly from Bajaur Agency Akhunzada Chettan that killers of Ahmad Shah would be arrested soon.

The former president had declared former SSP Malir Rao Anwar, killer of 27-year old Naqibullah Mehsud, a brave child of nation after which he was criticised on social media, though he apologised for hurting sentiments of Pakthuns reportedly.

A large number of residents in Bajaur Agency took to streets on Tuesday to protest Ahmad Shah murder, demanding arrest of killers as well as protection to youth in other provinces of the country.

During a meeting here, the former president phoned Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah and asked him to investigate murder of Ahmad Shah, a student from Bajaur Agency, who was tortured and shot dead in Karachi.

Asif Zardari asked the CM to supervise the case himself and ensure transparency in investigation, saying that the killers would be punished. Ahmad Shah’s was found dead and dumped at a deserted place.
