PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Shah Farman said that an industrial Zone will be established in the Dara Adam Khel to facilitate the arms industry in the region. He expressed these views while talking to a 100-member tribal jirga belonging to erstwhile Frontier Region, Peshawar at the Governor’s House.

“The traditional arms manufacturing industry in Dara Adam Khel would be developed into an industrial zone,” said Shah Farman. “The products of the local workers and experts will be provided access to national and international markets as well as ensuring the provision of quality raw material through a legalized registration process.”

The Jirga was comprised of MNA Nasir Jamal, former Federal Minister Haji Baz Gul, Deputy Commissioner Kohat, elders, youth and students of all the six tribes of FR Kohat. Senior officials of various nation-building departments were also present on the occasion.

The governor pointed out that funds allocation have been made in the provincial budget for carrying forward development activities and to resolve the grievances of the people. He said that people of the merged districts would get all facilities like other developed areas.

The jirga informed the governor about their problems and also invited him to visit the area. The governor said the tribal jirga would be established at the local level to monitor the developmental schemes in the area and this jirga would remain in touch with local administration to solve the issues of the public.

He said the local government elections would be held in the newly merged areas soon and every FR region would have own Nazim to address people’s problems at their doorstep. The governor said funds for the development of the tribal districts would also be allocated in the provincial budget and 10-year developmental package by the federal government would bring about a positive change in the merged areas.
