DI KHAN, January 16: The deadline for registration of tenants in Dera Ismail Khan district has been extended till 1st of February.

The deadline had expired yesterday but the deputy inspector general issued a notification to extend it today.

Earlier, the police arrested 32 people for not registering themselves with respective police stations in the district while living in rented houses.

Speaking to TNN, a Jirga of North Waziristan tribesmen staying in DI Khan appealed to DIG to extended the deadline for registration because they said most of the owners of houses were not available and resultantly they could not get themselves registered. Hence, the official extended it while the tribesmen have also demanded release of the arrested people.
