Deadlock over Fata Reforms continue

ISLAMABAD: The second round of high level FATA Reforms Committee meeting chaired by Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Thursday concluded without any progress.

However, PM Abbasi said that he would inform leaders of all political parties regarding any decision agreed at a meeting of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz parliamentary board to be held here Friday.

The parties could not brought a consensus over the reforms and Mehmud Khan Achakzai and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazal continued their opposition to Fata-KP merger.

Parliamentarians from different political parties showed up at the meeting on Fata Reforms Committee implementation here Islamabad. Abbasi briefed the politicians about the government’s plan pertaining to FATA reforms and discussed about it.
