PESHAWAR, 27 October: The death toll in earthquake in Afghanistan has reached 150 which also include 12 girls students of a school.

These 12 girls lost their lives during a stampede as they fled shaking buildings during the quake in Talukan area of Takhar province. Forty-two girls were also injured in the stampede who were taken to hospital.

According to the US Geological Survey, the epicentre of the earthquake was Badakhshan province of Afghanistan and tremors were felt from Kabul to New Delhi.

Over 200 people have been injured in the quake and a large number of houses have also been damaged. Officials were facing difficulties in reaching far situated areas which have been affected most due to the earthquake. They feared that the death toll may increase further.
