Degree college in Bara reopened after seven years

BARA, 29 April: Following complete restoration of peace in the Bara subdivision of Khyber Agency, the only degree college at Kohi Sher Haider village has been reopened on Friday after seven years.

Presently, the college has been reopened for the intermediate students’ examinations which are underway.

The local administration has provided furniture and equipped the science laboratories, library and computer lab while the admission process will be started in September after the FA/FSc results.

The teachers and the students have expressed contentment on the reopening of the college in its old building.

“I am very happy that I am taking my papers in my own college,” said a first year students.

“I hope that educational activities would also resume in the college as were before,” remarked another student requesting the Fata education department to provide all necessary requirements to the college so that the students do not face any problem in the upcoming session.

The college was forced to close in 2009 after militants took over the control of Bara subdivision. However, educational activities were continued in a rented building in Peshawar in order to save students’ precious time from being wasted.
